Right, just for the sake of it
i decided to post ALL the Oaths from the Green Lantern Franchise
(or, to be more specific: the "Blackest Night" crossover event.)

despite the fact that MOST of these Lantern Corps make no sense to me (cough-coughindigotribe-cough-cough)
I ackowledge that there ARE fans of all these corps, so for THEIR sake alone, i post these.

and, you have NO IDEA how hard it was to make this "List"
so, do acknowledge my hard work and effort.

so, anyway..here's a personal description.

I'm obviously a Big Fan of the Green Lanterns.
their the originals, and we would have the other Corps without them.

who wouldn't want to be a Space Cop
preserving Law and Order throughout the galaxies??
(sounds alot like a Jedi, but..i'd rather have a Power Ring, than a Lightsaber.)

Sinestro Corps (or, 'Yellow Lantern Corps')
seems to be more of an Exact Copy of the GL's, only more willing to use Lethal Force.

kinda like a S.W.A.T. Team or something.

in some cases, their like the Mob or Mafia.
believing they can stop Crime and Corruption..by CONTROLLING It.

Morally, i'd NEVER resort to Sinestro's mephods.
but, to use the power of Fear and Intimidation in a Non-Lethal way..yeah, i could like that.

hasn't Batman been doing that since 1939??

The Star Sapphire Corps..

heh, last i heard of 'SS', she was a singular villainess
just one of many bad guys in Green Lantern's (mostly Hal Jordon's) Rogues Gallery.

NOW, DC gives Star Sapphie her own Corps (like Sinestro)
and, then goes on to state that it's powered by "Love"!!?

in all the media that i've seen Star Sapphire..she never ONCE showed any ounce of Love.

in the Justice League Cartoon by Bruce Timm.
Star Sapphire was a Supercriminal whose only motivation was Riches (Greed)

and, later, in the Justice League Doom movie
Star Sapphire's prime motivation was a need to HURT Hal Jordon (Rage)

I actually did researched on the Comic Versions of the Star Sapphires.
and, aparently THEIR version of showing "Love", is encasing their loved ones in crystal.

Oooo-kay.
i may be desperate for love
but, the second my girlfriend tries to vacume seal me up like a vintage barbie doll

it may be time for us to "see other people."

the only time i want THAT to happen
is if i'm dying, and i have a "Mrs. Freeze" girl who plans to wake me up, later.

DC has a weird view of what "Love" is in Green Lantern.

Red Lanterns..

at first, i was't sure of these guys
but, after watching a few episodes of 'Green Lantern: The Animated Series', i've grown to like 'em.

Red Lanterns are basicly a result of the Oan Guardians
first attempt at Galactic Peacekeeper (The Manhunters) which went horribly wrong.

an entire Galaxy was destroyed (dubbed "The Lost Sector")
and, the Red Lanterns believe this was done On Purpose.

so, the RL's live for Revenge.
killing ANYONE associated with the Guardians (namely, Green Lanterns.)

they're just that kind of Villain(s) who believe THEY are the "good guys"

twisted.

in a way, their like Terrorists (okay, ALOT like Terrorists)
but, luckily, at least ONE got some sense to utilize his Rage for something positive ('Razer', my new favorite.)

and, Atrocitus..is one Big, Scary Guy.
i'm surprised he didn't get recruited in Sinestro's Corp.

he does use Fear amd Intimidation ALOT (plus, he's scary as h*ll)

Personally, i prefer the Animated Series/Bruce Timm versions over the Comic Book Versions.

in the comics, blood-like energy dripped and spewed from their mouths
the members acted more liek Rabid Animals, and removing their rings could kill them.

on the Cartoon, they acted perfectly normal (Aggressive, but still 'Normal')
they used energy like GL's, so..no Bleeding at the Mouth
and, removing their rings was Painful..but, not Fatal.

plus, i prefer the Cartoon Oath, than the Comic Oath.
(cartoon version had a good ring to it.
the comic book versions sounded like something a Demon would pledge to.)

I don't know much about Blue Lanterns (only from what i've seen on GL:TAS)

what i do know is that their optimistic, peaceful
and, when their power is combined with the Green Lanterns..GL's become 'Supercharged'
(in otherwords, mix Hope and Will, and you get a GL version of a 'Super Sayan')

so..i like 'em.

the only BL that i know of thus far is 'Saint Walker.'

The Orange Agent..hardly counts as a "Lantern Corp"

seriously, who in heavens name thought THIS was a good idea??!
introduce an Emotion that is nothing but Negative
(Greed is actually of of the Seven DEadly SIns, ya' know.
Trigon the Terrible probably likes THIS Corp, along with the Red Lanterns.)

true to form, Orange Agenthas only ONE MEMBER (obviously)
on acccount the single member is So Greedy, he won't recruit anybody else.

to my knowledge.."New Members" come when current guy
is beaten, killed or has his ring and power battery stolen by his successor.

I just don't understand this "corp" at all..

Indigo Tribe.

you know, i actually considered Excluding this from my list.

on account that i have no idea what the Oath means (other than the "Abin Sur" part)
and, as for the emotion: Compassion (to me) is just another aspect of "Love" (Star Sapphire Corps.)

further more, the Indigo Tribe's main ability is mimicing the power of other Corps
(when it encoutered a Sinestro Corps Member, it mimiced it's Fear Power.)

Yeah, i get they were important in the 'Blackest Night' storyline.
but, i still think Compassion is another form of Love, and therefore..were unneccesary to have.

but, hey..that's just my opinion.

The Black Lantern Corps..the main characters of 'Blackest Night'
and, an excuse to bring back deceased DC characters..AS ZOMBIES!!

seriously, what is DC doing in their spare time??
playing Resident Evil??!, watching Dawn of the Dead??!

well..now that that's over with.

(clears throat) this was a clever idea.
having heroes fighting corrupted versions of old friends
and, enemies that they thought were Gone for Good.

though, i think the "eating of hearts" was a bit extreme
(sapping lifeforce like leeches or vampires would've been enough for me.)

but, all the same..nice idea.
sure gives a literal meaning of "Blackest Night (of the Dead)"

Now, i dread that DC Comics will have Rockstead adapt Blackest Night into their Arkham Series.
have them bring back the deceased Joker as a Black Lantern Zombie.

IT COULD HAPPEN!!!

Whew!!, after all that 'Blackest Night' craziness
i was sure relieved (and, excited) at the concept of 'White Lanterns.'

like Fear is to Will (and, Rage is to Love)
White Lanterns are the Polar Opposite of the Black Lanterns.

instead of reviving the deceased as corrupted zombies
the WL rings completely restores them to life (in fact, restores ANYTHING to life.)

having a White Lantern Power Ring
is the closest you'll ever get to having "The Power of God."

What i can't believe is how come when Batman had one of these
he didn't try and ressurect his parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, back to life
or, why Superman didn't try and revive and relocate all the Kryptonians (his parents, included)

then again, this is DC..they wouldn't want their mainstream heroes to have "happy endings."

Personally, aside from a Green Lantern Ring
i would most definetly want a White Lantern Ring.

it's pretty cool.

First, I have a question. Is there an Earthlings English translation of the Indigo oath?

Second. I do like the white lantern oath, but I think I got a nice revision.

“In Brightest Day, there will be light

To cleanse the heart, and set wrongs right

Through deepest darkness, my soul shines bright

A new dawn rises, LET THERE BE LIGHT!”
