Although, My Mind Is So FRAGILE.....I Just Hope I Can remember It All Amd Keep The Fact Straight.

Were My Parents Around??, Or....Did I Spend Most Of My Time ALone.

How About I Start With WHat I DO REMEMBER Straight In My Head.


My Name Is, Er...WAS: Jackie Napier.
And, I Was a Famous Comic....I Performed At The Most "Snazzy" Night Clubs In Town!!

Yes, I Remember....I Was Right Up There With RODNEY DANGERFIELD.
Everyone That came To My Shows ALWAYS Got a Good Laugh And Went Home Happy...

But, That Thing That Kept Me Smiling....Was Teh fact That My GIRLFRIEND Always Came To My Shows.
Yes....I REMEMBER!!!, There She Was....Sitting In The FRONT ROW WIth a Smile On Her beautiful Face.

She Always Knew O had Talent And Said I Would Suceed One Day.....She Was Right, You Know.

Then, Came a Night I Will Never Forget....

I Was Doing a Show At a Ritzy Night Club Over In PARK ROW.
Then, All Of a Sudden....HE SHOWED UP: OWLMAN.

He Was This BIG TIME, CRIME LORD That Dressed Up In a Costume.
See, "Owly" Terrorises The City With His Gang Of Criminals....
And, I Told "Owlman Jokes" To Ease The FEARS And FRUSTRATIONS Of Everyone Being Oppressed By Him.

But, Owlman Has NO SENSE OF HUMOR!!!
He SLaughtered My Entire Audience Just To Set AN EXAMPLE!!!

My Girl Was In The Audience.....I Watched Her Die.

Don`t Know Why Owlman Left Me Alive....
Probably Wanted Me To Live With Grief Over Losing My Fans And My Girl.

And, For Awhile....I Was Grieving.
But, After That....I Decided To take REVENGE.


AFter Spending WEEKS Trying To Get a Lead On Where Owlman Might Be....I Found One.

The ACE CHEMICAL PLANT!!
Rumor Has It, He Was Holding a Meeting With Some Local Mob Bosses There.

I Intended To CRASH HIS PARTY!!

AFter gathering Some Close Friends, We Went To the Plant.
I Was Hoping To Get The Drop On Him.....But, Owlman Was Expecting Us.

My Informat Must Of DOUBLE-CROSSED Me, Or Something...
The Next Thing I Knew, My Buddies Had been Gunned Down....And Owlman Had Be Cornered At a Catwalk.

He Grabbed Me By My Shirt And Tossed Me into a Vat Of Chemicals.
I guess He Was Hoping The Chemicals Would MELT ME Or Something....

EVen I Thought So...
WHen I Took That "Chemical Bath", I Did Feel Some BURNING In My Skin.

Eventually, Owlman And His Gang Took Off.
The Police Showed Up And Started Doing Clean-Up.

Someone Eventually Found Me....
Miraculously....I Survived, But....I Was DIFFERENT.

I had No Idea WHat Had Happened.....Until I Got To a Mirror.
ANd, To My Horror....I Saw What Owlman Had Done To Me.

My Skin Was Bleached White
My Lips Were Bright Red And Resembles a Clownish Grin And My Hair Was Dark Purple.

I Looked Like a Clown Of Some Sort.
And, At That Moment....My Mind SNAPPED.


My Career Was Sunk.
I Had Lost My Loyal fans, My best Friends....The Love Of My Life.
And, To Top It All Off: I Got Turned Into a FREAK!!!!

I Went Totally INSANE!!!!
I Nearly Lost It....Then, I Remembered My Girlfriend.

"Just Smile, jackie..." She Said, With Soft Eyes.

"No Matter What Happened....Just Smile".

So, I Did.....I Smiled.

Then, I Found Myself Laughing....Like a CRAZED MANIAC.
For Years, People Had called My "The Jokester"....So, That`s Exactky What I`d Be.

Jackie Napier Was Dead....He Died When Owlman Killed Him.
From Now, Until Teh Day I Died.....I Would Be Known As: THE JOKESTER!!!

I Couldn`t Help But Laugh At This CRUEL, But FUNNY Joke!!
Owlman Thought He Had Destroyed Me....But, He CURSED HIMSELF, INSTEAD!!!

From This Day On....I Would Become a Crimefighter
And I Would Forever Be a THORN IN HIS SIDE, Ruining All His Master Plans!!!

It Was a WHOLE NEW ACT!!!
I Would Take The Comedy Genius I Used For Entertainment....And, Drive Owlman CRAZY WIth It!!!

Yes....I Wouldn`t Stop Until I had made Owlman Just as Crazy As I Am!!!
I Would Drive Him To The Brink Of Insanity....And Avenge The Deaths Of My Loved Ones.

And, Even If he DOES Eventually Kill Me....
I WOuld Make Sure That EVEN IN DEATH, Owlman Wouldn`t Be FREE OF ME.

No Matter Where He Goes, he Will ALWAYS Hear My Endless Laughter Mocking Him.
